PROJECT ENGINEER I (ME DESIGN)

Job Summary:
Responsible for the mechanical design for standard press designs and smaller automation projects as assigned. May mentor other project engineers. Complete personal training per established plan.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide and/or oversee the mechanical and hydraulic design of Wabash and Carver presses and machines including, but not limited to:
o Concept and design including specification of purchased parts
o Overall assembly drawings
o Detail drawings
o Hydraulic schematics
o Multi-level bills of materials
• Assist the Sales staff with technical support in the quoting process.
• Assist Operations during the build and debug of equipment.
• Assist the Service Department with technical issues.
• Assist in mentoring other engineers as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 2 years’ strong machine design experience. Compression press design a plus.
• Minimum 2 years’ hydraulics experience, particularly in proportional control in high force applications
• Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
• PLC familiarity (Allen Bradley preferred)
• MRP/ERP experience
• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Must have a “team-player” positive attitude with a cooperative personality
• Willing to interface with internal and external customers
• Good communication skills
• Microsoft Office experience
• Occasional overnight travel
Education:
BSME/BSMET/ASMET. Candidates without a degree, or possessing a degree from a different discipline, will be considered based on demonstrated and documented experience.

Salary commensurate upon Experience

Position:  Third Shift Enshu Operator

 Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will setup, adjust, program and operate Enshu to drill, ream, tap counterbore, etc. on a variety of products and parts.
  • Review drawings, blueprints or job instructions to determine requirements.
  • Locate, position and secure work piece in holding fixture or device and be creative in set-ups.
  • Insert proper tooling, set stops, feeds and speeds and engage controls.
  • Adjust machine as necessary to maintain tolerance requirements. Change tools as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Requires ability to work from drawings, blueprints and job instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, etc.
  • Experience of up to six months necessary to attain quality and production requirements.
  • Must have the ability to read blue prints and drawings.
  • Must have good mechanical skills.
  • Must have ability to convert blueprints to program logic.

 Position: Tester/Inspector

 Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of duties necessary to assemble and wire electrical panel and controls to a press.
  • Fabricate and install wiring harness and other electrical components as necessary.
  • Use test devices, meters, scales and hand tools.
  • Set up and test machinery to customers spec.
  • Selected person must own or be willing to purchase required small hand tools.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Candidate must have the ability to read electrical schematics, blue prints and drawings.
  • Good mechanical skills, basic electrical skills and basic hydraulic knowledge required.
  • Candidate also needs to have experience at trouble-shooting electrical circuits and hydraulic circuits. PLC programming would be a plus.
  • Applicant must be able to operate a variety of hand operated power tools.
