Glossary Terms I-J: Used in the Compression, Lamination and Transfer Molding Process
INITIATOR:
A chemical that triggers the formation of free radicals which interact with unsaturated molecules, commencing the polymerization process.
INSERT:
A part placed into the mold onto which the material being compression, or transfer molded is bonded, either mechanically and/or chemically to become the final molded, composite article.
